Hat trick!
Here is hubby modelling the lace-and-cables hat I finished today:
Amazingly, he has no problem wearing it, even though there is lace. It was actually supposed to be for me, but I guess he can have it!
The stitch pattern is Tilting Ladders from Barbara Walker's 2nd treasury. I just winged it for the decreases:

That looks great! In grey, I think a guy can definitely pull off lace. Just refer to it as "ventilation."
Well, his first reaction was, "You know..." (pause to look at me to see if I was in Bite Your Head Off Mode), "... your hat has some, uh, holes in it."
