My Fifth Umbilical Cord Hat
This is my 5th Umbilical Cord hat from Stitch and Bitch. Sometimes I stripe them, sometimes, I leave off the cord, but this one is plain Bernat Cotton Tots. I love to make these hats while riding in the car. I don't know who I'm going to give this to yet, but it's always nice to have a few baby hats ready for giving.
Next up: Basic Cable from Stitch and Bitch Nation in Lamb's Pride Worsted.

Have you made basic cable before? 'Cause mine turned out way too small - I added two repeats of the pattern and two sections of the cable - I'm nearly done, and it looks like it'll fit well!
The first one barely fit my 2 year old nephew!
I make these for baby gifts for teachers at my school. I, too, use cotton tots, and the variegated turns out so so cute!
What a great baby hat! That would make a fantastic charity knitting project.
